Today we welcome a new member to the group – Dr Gabriel Karras. Gabriel is from Greece and will be working on laser postionisation.
We extend a warm welcome to Irma Berrueta Razo who joins us from Mexico as a research student.
Having been with us for three years Alan is moving back to his native USA. He has secured a post-doctoral position in Nick Winograd’s lab at Penn State University. Since Nick is a close collaborator of ours we expect to be working closely with Alan in the future.
Matt leaves us to join the research team at Porton Down. Matt has been part of SARC for 6 years, most recently visiting Berlin and Harvard as part of his post doctoral fellowship. We wish him well in his new role.
Once more the group expands with the addition of four new PhD students. Helen, Emily, Gareth and Jimmy will be developing our research into cancer mimics, instrumentation and computation.
Enhancing new developments in ToF-SIMS through researcher exchanges
We have been successful in securing EPSRC funds to bring expert researchers to Manchester and to send some of our group to the USA and The Netherlands. Later this year we will be hosting Professor Stephen Reichenbach from Nebraska University for three months and we will also be welcoming back Professors Nick Winograd and Barbara Garrison from Penn State University. Alex will be travelling to Nebraska next year and John (F) will be exchanging with a colleague from Professor Ron Heeren‘s group in Amsterdam. There is also funding for Professor Roger Webb of Surrey University to visit Penn State. [EPSRC award: EP/F012985/1, more information …]
We’ve added a ‘Former Group Members‘ section to our site. Do you have any more up-to-date information on past members? Do you have any photographs you’d like to share? If so, please get in touch with Alex ( Alex.Henderson @ manchester.ac.uk). It will be great to hear from you!
